These breed names are based on many different things, some of which include the country or state in which they are found, what their uses were, the people who discovered them, as well as aspects of their appearance (for example, hairlessness, height, color etc.). The Alaskan Klee Kai is a spitz type of dog which was developed with Siberian and Alaskan Huskies and as a result, they closely resemble these other breeds. But they are smaller and were bred for companionship, not as sled dogs.
