Introduced in 2003, the Mazda 3 is marketed in the compact car segment and has two models, a four-door sedan and a five-door hatchback. It is currently in its third generation and is powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines.​

A long-serving model in the Toyota range, the Century was first marketed in 1967. This four-door limo is the flagship model for the brand in Japan and is used by the Emporer, Prime Minister, and Japanese businessmen. It is currently in its third generation.

This full-sized luxury car was introduced by Toyota in 1991 and is still in production. Now in its sixth generation, the Crown Majesta is powered by a hybrid gasoline engine producing over 300 brake horsepower.

First released in 1955, the Crown is the longest-running model in the Toyota fleet. It is now in its 15th generation. Today, the crown is a luxury four-door sedan but over the years, there have been many different model types.

Sold in Japan and a few other Asian markets, the Mark X is a mid-sized 4-door sedan first introduced in 2004. It is powered by a range of V6 engine options -- from 2.5-liter to 3.5-liter -- and offers either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

The 323, also know at the Familia in Japan, was a small compact car marketed by Mazda for 40 years from 1963. All in all, the Familia had eight generations, each with a range of body styles,​ including wagons, hatchbacks and sedans.

First marketed in 2001, the Allion competes in the compact car segment. This four-door sedan is sold only in Japan. Current models offer only an automatic transmission but there are three petrol engines from which to choose.

Available as both a hatchback and sedan, the Etios competes in the subcompact class for Toyota. It was first introduced in 2010 and is currently still in its first generation although it has received two facelifts over the years.

Sold from 1991 to 1994, the Mazda Navajo was essentially the first generation of the Ford Explorer, marketed at the same time and just rebadged. It was the first SUV sold in America by the Japanese brand.

One of the few Kei or city cars marketed by Toyota outside of Japan, the Aygo first hit the streets in 2005. These cars are exactly the same as the Citroen C1 and the Peugeot 108.

The Mazda 6 was first produced by the Japanese car maker in 2002. It first reached the U.S. market in 2007 when the second generation model was released. Sales of the Atenza model logged more than 100,000 units between 2014 and 2016.

Derived from the Corolla, the Auris is a compact hatchback first introduced in 2006. The Auris has an upscale version called the Blade. It is only available in Japan.

​Made mostly for the Japanese market, the Alphard is named after the brightest star in the Hydra constellation. This luxury MPV, first marketed in 2002, is still in production. It features three different models and is available as either a seven or eight seater. Now in its third generation, the Alphard top of the range model is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Produced by Japanese auto manufacturer Mazda since 2006, the BT-50 is related to the Ford Ranger. The current model comes with two powerplant options, either a 2.2 liter or 3.3-liter diesel engine.

The first prototype vehicle made by Toyota was the A1. When put into production, it became the AA. More than 1,300 were produced from 1936 to 1943. The AA was available as a four-door sedan or convertible.

Certainly one of Toyota’s better off-roaders, the 4Runner is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine. Not only is the 4Runner a very capable off-road machine, it has that excellent Toyota reliability. One negative, however, is the limited clearance, which can be overcome by thoughtful, clever driving.

Also known as the MX-5, this rear-wheel-drive roadster is as fun now as it was in the 1990s. The first generation, produced until 1997, featured either a 1,500cc or 1,800cc engine.

There were lots of things to like about the third generation RX-7 - its twin-charged rotary engine, its looks and probably best of all, its affordability. This little racer from Mazda still remains very popular.​

Only 351 2000GT's were produced by Toyota between 1967 and 1970. This two-door fastback sportscar was designed in conjunction with Yamaha. It came with either a 2.0 or 2.3-liter engine and a five-speed manual or three-speed automatic gearbox.

Although maybe not as popular as other Japanese makes, the Mazda6 offers excellent handling thanks to its responsive steering. You can also expect a comfortable ride and great gas mileage of around 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highways.

The Carol is one of Mazda's oldest models and was introduced in 1962. The current generation, the seventh, is related to the Suzuki Alto and was marketed from 2014. It is powered by a 700cc engine.

This mini MPV entered the Toyota fleet in 2005 and remains a current model. By the time the second generation was released in 2010, another name had been adopted for the model, the Verso-S, although it would only be marketed in Europe under that name.

The Bongo is available as either a pickup truck or a cab over van. This Mazda stalwart was first released in the 1960s. By 1999, the popularity of the Bongo had seen a fourth generation released which is still marketed by the company. It also appeared under other famous vehicle badges,​ including Ford and Nissan, often country dependant.

Specially designed for the African market, the Quantum is used as a mini-bus taxi, transporting much of the population to and from work each day. It holds 12 passengers and is powered by either a 2.5 diesel or 2.7-liter petrol engine.

Marketed in the subcompact class, the aim of the Publica was to give the Japanese public a cheap family car. Available in a number of configurations, including station wagon, convertible, coupe and pickup, the Publica was built from 1961 to 1978. The last version, known as the Toyota 1000, was also marketed outside of Japan.

The Scrum, introduced in 1989 was originally badged as the companies other marque, Autozam. It features in two body shapes, a micro truck and a cab over microvan. The Scrum is powered by a 660 cc DOHC three-cylinder engine and has both two-wheel drive and four​-wheel drive variants.

This Kei, or city car, was first introduced in 1993. It features what is known as a 'tallboy' design, where a very high roof and a box-like structure is prominent. It shares its design with the Suzuki Wagon R and is also marketed around the world as a number of other brands.

A long-serving model in the Toyota lineup, the Previa has been in production since 1990. This three-door minivan is now in its third generation, which was introduced as far back as 2006 although the Previa did receive a facelift in 2016. The Previa is known as the Estima in Japan and the Tarago in Australia.

One of Mazda's most popular SUVs, the CX-5 first entered the market in 2012. Using the company's Skyactive Technology, the CX-5 offered excellent fuel consumption as well as reduced emissions, an important part of Mazda's future vision. The second generation was released in 2017 and features a six-speed automatic gearbox and three petrol engine options.

A Daihatsu design marketed by Toyota, the Avanza is a mini MPV first produced in 2003. It is currently in its second generation.

Introduced in 2015, the CX-3 is a compact crossover SUV offering from Mazda built from the Mazda 2 platform. It has a five-door hatchback design and includes both diesel and petrol powerplants with either a six-speed automatic or manual transmission.

The Rush is a rebadged Daihatsu Terios. First launched in 1997, the Rush is currently in its third generation and is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine with either an automatic or manual transmission.

First released in 2012, the 86 is a two-door fastback coupe sportscar. It is powered by a 2.0-liter straight four engine which propels the 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds.

​This minivan entered the Toyota stable in 2004. Available only in Japan, the Isis was designed by Hiroshi Okamoto. Transmission is automatic, and the Isis is powered by either a 1.8 or 2.0 liter engine.

Competing in the subcompact class, the Vitz was first produced in 1999. Now in its third generation, it is available as a three-door or five-door hatchback. It is marketed under the Yaris name badge in many parts of the world.

The MPV first featured as a model in the Japanese automaker's lineup from 1988. Since then, there have been three generations of this minivan. It was originally designed to be sold in America although currently, the third generation isn't.

This mini MPV is also sold by both Daihatsu and Subaru. In fact, the design is actually by Daihatsu. The Tank was first introduced in 2016 and is powered by a 1.0-liter petrol engine.

Sold mostly in Japan but also in some Asian countries, the Biante, built since 2004, is an 8-seater, large MPV. It offers three engine options, one of which is based on the Mazda's Skyactive Technology which provides increased fuel consumption and reduced emissions. Only a handful of countries feature the Biante, with Indonesia a​s the first to do so.

Marketed between 2004 and 2015, this mini MPV featured in the subcompact car segment. Although one generation was produced for more than 11 years, the Verisa received two facelifts, in 2006 and 2009. More than 33,000 Verisas were sold in the first two years of production in Japan.​
